New Years & Sequins

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Hey all!

Happy New Years Eve!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe it is going to be 2014 tomorrow. To me it's totally crazy. I know I have some New Years resolutions, what about you?

I cannot wait for 2014 to come. It's when I get to graduate and I'll be moving to Kansas in the Fall. I'll be turning 18 in just 2 weeks also ;). So many wonderful adventures are to be had this year and I can't wait to keep doing outfit posts and a few more beauty ones too. I have big plans for this blog and to make it better!

So anyway, I am running a bunch of errands today so I needed something easy to throw on and also just somewhat nice to wear for watching the ball drop later! I went to Old Navy with my sister and friend yesterday and found this gem!!! A beautiful sequined blue sweater. Oh *swoon* it is gorgeous. Though it would be perfect for today and wrapping up my last post for this year :).

Enjoy!

Hey all!

I hope the holidays have been good to you! I have totally just been lounging in my sweats and t-shirts, reading Divergent while sipping on hot coco.

I really appreciate everything I have been given for Christmas this year. I am so grateful for my family and friends who love me and support me for me and what I want to do. So thank YOU for everything you have done for me.

And on that note here are a few items in have been obsessed with that Santa Clause got me this Christmas ;). I am wearing this cardigan from American Eagle that is sooooooooo soft. Oh my goodness I absolutely love it. I have worn it for 3 days straight (I washed it in between I promise). I also got these adorable black booties with studded and buckles on them also from American Eagle. Finally I also got this bracelet from Target and it looks just like this chain link from JCrew which to me is a STEAL!

Here you go and enjoy!

Merry Christmas

Tuesday, December 24, 2013

Hey all!

Thought I would do one more outfit post before the rest of break turns into sweat pants attire.

Any who my family and I went out to a very nice dinner together and went to see these HUGE gingerbread houses. I mean they were over 4000 pounds. That is so crazy and insane. Tonight was lovely to spend with loved ones and we all dressed up nice.

Here are some photos:

Sweater- Old Navy// Skirt- Forever 21+/ Shoes- Charlotte Russe//
Tights- Target// Earrings- Target// Purse- Charming Charlie// Lipstick- Fergie Daily

My mom took this great shot of the little play area in the pavilion we were in for dinner. The Christmas tree was also gorgeous.

This is my sister Morgan and she is GORGEOUS! We went to dinner at this nice restaurant named Tanzy. All the waiters and waitress' were wearing Santa hats for the holidays. They also had amazing food, so if you are in the Scottsdale area then definitely check this place out!

Well have a merry Christmas Eve and a merry Christmas!

Bold Holiday Lips

Hey all!

Thought I would have a little fun putting together a holiday bold lip, high end and drugstore, choices for you! I know not all of us want to splurge on something we may not wear all the time or often enough. So ready or not here we go!

High End:
1) Lime Crime~ A great high end brand almost similar formula lipstick to MAC. This particular one is very opaque and gorgeous bold red for the holidays. It doesn't come cheap though starting at $18.

2)MAC~ I am sure we have all heard of this luxurious brand. I own this lipstick and it is so mad and so bold. It is perfect and I know I can use it for a long time. This is also a little pricey starting at $15.

3)YSL~ This is also a well known brand for their pigmented lipsticks and how long lasting they are. This one is a orange based lipstick.  Again another pricey lipstick starting at around $30.

Drugstore:
1)Revlon~ My go-to lipstick brand. I love how cremey and nice the formula is.  Usually these lipsticks range from $4-6.

2)Rimmel~ A great dupe for MAC's Ruby Woo. Rimmel'a matte lipstick is wonderful substitution if you don't want to pay for a high end product. It ranges from $4-5.

3)Maybelline~ I can't express how much I love this drugstore brand. It is absolutely wonderful how opaque and creamy all their lipsticks are. Plus they are so vibrant and last a LONG time. These range from $5-8.

Hope you enjoyed this! I will be back with an outfit post of my Christmas Eve dressed up look!!

Holiday Outfit

Sunday, December 22, 2013

Hey all!

Thought I would do a Christmas eve/holiday outfit for you since Christmas is this week!!! Ahhhhhh I am so excited.

I know that all of us have these plans during the busy holidays whether it be a nice dinner with family or a party with friends. Either way you want to look nice and put together and dress up for the special occasion.

I wanted something nice but still a little casual. I choose my nice black dress and a creme cardigan to dress it down. I paired it with this super popular sparkly gold belt I have seen all over Instagram. I did the same makeup look in my Holiday Makeup For Less having a classy bold red lip.

Copycat Wednesday

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

Hey all!

So I am back with another copycat outfit this Wednesday! Yay!!! :)

I am excited to continue this. I think it's a wonderful way to see what you has in your closet before you go out to go buy items for that outfit that you'll never wear again.

So I found a girl named Sarah Chamness on Instagram and she is lovely. Absolutely darling sense of style and very sweet. Her outfit:

Here is mine:

I do not own light wash distressed jeans so I choose a dark wash jean that I think look better on myself. I also owned a flannel blue and red based shirt and a navy cardigan! I couldn't tell what type of shoes she was wearing but some kind of short brown booties. So I went with my tall brown boots and layered with creme socks since I was freezing.

I also added and white statement necklace like she did too!

Enjoy!

Basic Needs

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

*Most awkward pictures ever*

No one was home to take my photos except my little brother Nicklaus. This is him~

Poor kid. I resorted to my 6 year old little brother to take them off my phone. Hahah ha ha... Yeah.

Anyways I absolutely loved my outfit today. I just needed something neutral and basic. I have finals this week so it's stressful and I need comfy clothes!

Enjoy!

Holiday Makeup For Less

Holiday Makeup For Less

Hey all!

Thought I would do this when I actually did my makeup nice! I created a simple holiday look for you and found items that are not that expensive.

1) The foundation is a matte which for me is great because I have oily skin like no ones business so this would be lovely on my skin.

2) I use this mascara daily. It is so black and it lasts all day. I absolutely love it and I don't feel the need to spend money on a high end one when I love this and it is only a dollar!?

3) Fergie launched this line with Wet N' Wild recently and these eyeshadows are gorgeous. Wet N' Wild has highly pigmented eyeshadows and they are super cheep.

4) I love this bronzer from Rimmel. It is totally on the affordable side and it looks like the sun hit you in all the right places.

5) Who doesn't love matte lips! Let alone red ones. NYX has amazing products and their lipsticks and glosses are the best color pay off for being so affordable.

Hope you enjoyed this!!

Winter Cravings

Monday, December 9, 2013

Hey all!

Since I did a fall cravings post I figured I would do one for winter!

It has been PRETTY cold lately so I have been making the transition from fall based leggings and chambray tops to more layers an scarfs everyday.

1) A big slouchy sweater like this is perfect this season to keep warm. And it's black!

2) I definitely have been craving a peacoat or warmer coat to wear over outfits. Love this taup color too that can be very versatile.

3) Leather jackets always seem to sink me in. Love the burgundy color and you can definitely dress this one up and down.

4) I literally need a military jacket in my life. It will go with anything in my closet and it has been a huge piece this fall and winter season.

5) I feel as if this season I am always wearing black. And I don't have a pair of tall black boots so I am totally hoping Santa will pick some up for me ;).

6) Everyone needs a black dress in their life! And why not one for the holidays. This dress has lace and a belt to show off your waist.
7) these scarfs are gorgeous! A fringe scarf has been creeping up lately. And the blanket scarf has been all over Instagram and various blogs.
8) Every girl needs a basic black beanie in their life. This necklace I have also seen all over The Four Seasons Blog and other Instagram pages! It's great to pair with that black dress for the holidays.

Malori

Layering

Thursday, December 5, 2013

Hey all!

It is currently 39 degrees in Arizona today and the high will be 54 DEGREES!! Oh my goodness... So it is a layer day for me.

I love layering collard shirts like gingham and polkadot shirts and chambray with large sweaters or long sleeve shirts. Put a statement necklace or even a big chunky scarf if I am super cold like today.

Here are some Pinterest photos! Showing some layer examples in the first one.
Enjoy!
Xoxo,

Malori

1) First off look how comfy those socks look! I love love love pairing flannel with big sweaters on top. The watch also completes the outfit.

2) I absolutely love this combo of distressed jeans and sweater/flannel. Even if it doesn't match the colors and pattern can still work together and this definitely does!

3) This makes me want some black boots really bad. The black jeans go great with the purple. I like the scarf and nailpolish. It's very warm and almost vampy looking.

Copycat Wednesday

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

I think I am going to try and start this little segment. I'm going to call I "Copy Cat" if I think of something better I'll change it but I will do it every Wednesday or every other Wednesday. The outfit will be similar or close to a picture of an outfit from someone else's blog. I want to show that you can still dress super fashionable at a affordable price!

I found this blogger Eliza from Lovely Addictions and completely fell in love with her blog. I like her style a lot and enjoy her writing.

She wore a stripes shirt, scarf, black jeans, jean jacket and leopard flats. It's a great pattern mix going on all over! The plaid scarf over a stripe shirt and then some leopard loafers to finish the outfit.

Shirt- Old Navy// Jacket- Dress Barn// Jeans- Old Navy// Scarf- Wet Seal//
                            Shoes- Charlotte Russe// Jewelry- Tilly's, Forever 21

I don't own a plaid scarf but I am obsessed with this leopard one I got from Black Friday shopping. I paired it with a jean jacket, black jeans, and leopard flats like Eliza did. I don't own a light colored stripe shirt like her but I found this one in my closet that was pretty similar!

Hope you enjoyed this I will definitely do more :)
Enjoy!

Pattern Mixing

Sunday, December 1, 2013

Since November I have been thinking a lot about what college to go to and what major to settle on and even what career I want. I have decided to commit to this community college called Cowley County in Arkansas City, KS. Then transfer to Kansas State University to major in Apparal and Textiles. Kansas is where I was born and most of my family is there. My parents want me to get out of here (in a nice way) and have a college experience. Which I am lucky to have them support me in a field that will be challenging. I decided on apparel and textiles because 1) they don't have fashion and design and 2) I want to be a personal stylist or fashion consultant. I am not a huge designer. I can't really draw. But I love putting outfits together and knowing the new trends.

It keeps occurring to me that I only have half a year left till summer then college starts. It's totally crazy for me to think about. Senior year has finally come and it's almost over. Tomorrow I start school and we have 2 1/2 weeks till winter break. It's pretty crazy how time flies. But I'm excited for the adventures ahead.

Moving along to my outfit for today. I have been experimenting this week with mixing prints and I love pairing leopard with plaid. And plaid has definitely been a huge trend for this fall and winter.

I went to Black Friday and picked up this plaid shirt from Old Navy and this leopard scarf from Wet Seal. Both had AMAZING deals that night.

Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 28, 2013

I hope you guys are eating plentiful and taking long naps after!

Be thankful for the time you get to spend with the people around you. You never know when you won't have the chance anymore. Say "I love you" to your friends an family. Be grateful for the company.

Here is a little cozy outfit I put together for sitting on the coach watching football, the parade, and eating today.

Enjoy!

Malori

P.s.- I recently dyed my hair dark again and I love it! Let me know what you think.

New Cardigan & New Movie

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Hey all!

Yesterday I was invited to see a special pre-screening of The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty. I thought it was an okay movie but the experience was really neat! I saw it with friends at a movie theater where you can order food and drinks and they'll bring the food to you while you watch the movie.

I wore one of my favorite cardigans I picked up from Target last week. I am in love with it and I have to give a shout out to friend Carly for wearing it to class. It caught my eye in te store and Target had me. It's very comfortable and will be in many other outfits.

In other news, I hope you all are ready for turkey day tomorrow. In my family each of us help or make our own dish. Let me know in the comments what you guys do for Thanksgiving!

Christmas Trimming

Sunday, November 24, 2013

Hey guys! Finally have been pairing sweaters over button downs. Thank goodness Arizona got the hint that it's getting to be winter time.

Hope you are excited for Thanksgiving this week. I love having a nice hot meal and watching Christmas movies with my family, being thankful for each other's company.

We just put up our tree and decorated it today. These two months are my favorite because of giving to others and making your friends and family's day. :) I love paying for someone's Starbucks or giving someone a random compliment. It doesn't just make them feel better but you too!

Let me know in the comments what you do to give back during the holidays!
