Styling A Aztec Skirt | Featuring Stylzoo

Saturday, June 14, 2014

Hey all!

So... Tomorrow is my first day of work!!! ( yes I know its on Father's Day) I am so incredibly excited and nervous all at once. I will do another post tomorrow for Father's Day and my first day of work outfit, s look out for that.

In other news, a few weeks ago I was contacted by Stylzoo (click here to view website) to try out some of their clothes and boy am I in love. I am always a little sketchy when it comes to online clothing because usually something has to be returned. But nope!

I am in love with this Aztec style skirt. It is soooooo soft I could sleep in it. And the white shirt is super girly and feminine. It is exactly what I have been looking for as a basic shirt but also great to dress up or down. I am super excited to make more looks for both of them.

Stylzoo is also giving me a coupon code to share with you! You can get 30% off your purchase by using the code "thirty" which is valid on ALL items on their website. You should definitely take advantage of this deal because I know I will.

Hope you enjoyed.

Xoxo,
Malori

*disclosure*- I was not paid for this post. All comments and ideas are mine alone. Thank you!

Bundled Up

Thursday, January 16, 2014

Hey all!

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to my family and friends and others who wished me a happy birthday and gave me a gift. That was very nice of you! I had a bunch of my friends over and we played games and the best part is that almost all of the kids I had over were 16-18 years old and we decided to watch Despicable Me 2... Now to me I just find it funny becoming an adult and this is what we decide to watch!

A small side track from that... Did you know that in some parts of Canada its as cold as Mars?? I saw some news report about it a few days ago. I can't believe it can be below 30 degrees and right now in Arizona its about 70. So if you live anywhere super cold you better bundle up.

Even if it may be in the 70s here but I still bundle up for those 30 and 40 degree mornings. I also heard that it is dangerous to go outside because you can get frostbite in like 5-30 min. It's a crazy cold winter in my opinion. So please be safe! If you live in the colder states stay warm as much as you can.

Here I am bundled up this winter!
Enjoy!

Malori

Merry Christmas

Tuesday, December 24, 2013

Hey all!

Thought I would do one more outfit post before the rest of break turns into sweat pants attire.

Any who my family and I went out to a very nice dinner together and went to see these HUGE gingerbread houses. I mean they were over 4000 pounds. That is so crazy and insane. Tonight was lovely to spend with loved ones and we all dressed up nice.

Here are some photos:

My mom took this great shot of the little play area in the pavilion we were in for dinner. The Christmas tree was also gorgeous.

This is my sister Morgan and she is GORGEOUS! We went to dinner at this nice restaurant named Tanzy. All the waiters and waitress' were wearing Santa hats for the holidays. They also had amazing food, so if you are in the Scottsdale area then definitely check this place out!

Well have a merry Christmas Eve and a merry Christmas!

Basic Needs

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

*Most awkward pictures ever*

No one was home to take my photos except my little brother Nicklaus. This is him~

Poor kid. I resorted to my 6 year old little brother to take them off my phone. Hahah ha ha... Yeah.

Anyways I absolutely loved my outfit today. I just needed something neutral and basic. I have finals this week so it's stressful and I need comfy clothes!

Enjoy!

Layering

Thursday, December 5, 2013

Hey all!

It is currently 39 degrees in Arizona today and the high will be 54 DEGREES!! Oh my goodness... So it is a layer day for me.

I love layering collard shirts like gingham and polkadot shirts and chambray with large sweaters or long sleeve shirts. Put a statement necklace or even a big chunky scarf if I am super cold like today.

Here are some Pinterest photos! Showing some layer examples in the first one.
Enjoy!
Xoxo,

Malori

1) First off look how comfy those socks look! I love love love pairing flannel with big sweaters on top. The watch also completes the outfit.

2) I absolutely love this combo of distressed jeans and sweater/flannel. Even if it doesn't match the colors and pattern can still work together and this definitely does!

3) This makes me want some black boots really bad. The black jeans go great with the purple. I like the scarf and nailpolish. It's very warm and almost vampy looking.

November Weather

Friday, November 8, 2013

I know I have been posting that it's getting colder or it's warm but this time it's the truth that it has been super cold in the mornings.

Currently at my sisters softball tourney an it was sweatpants this morning an shorts this afternoon. I can't wait for more sweater weather and scarfs. That will be the majority of my outfit posts! ;)

On a side note I was freezing with my sandals today. My mom actually told me haven't you worn this outfit already? No mom you wouldn't understand. It's the same dress just different accessories.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Xoxo,
Malori

Interview Outfit

Monday, October 14, 2013

So I had an interview for a job today at a retail store and I really had no idea what I should wear for it.

I came home from school with only 20 min to change and get to the interview on time.

I decided that I wanted to wear something fall inspired to show that I know about what is popular and trending during seasons! I chose burgundy/wine color which is of course popular this fall!!

Burgundy & Military Green

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

I think the title also speaks for itself. I have been obsessed with these two colors in the beginning of fall.

I have also bought shoes that go great with the trending colors.

They are perfect! *swoon*
I have noticed that usually during fall I have gone in a more Boho laid back style. Which is most likely because it's more browns, oranges, yellows, reds which to me is more relaxing.

I have two outfits today! They both show my favorite colors which have been this military olive green and deep burgundy lately. Can't stop wearing both these items because of how perfectly they go with my boots for one and that they describe fall perfectly as well.

Enjoy!

Malori

Simple Style

Monday, September 23, 2013

When I am totally not in the mood to dress up or dress down the first thing I think of to put on is this Chambray top. I am in love with this one from Old Navy.

You really want to pick one with a bit of room so you aren't constricted and there isn't buttons flying open. That would be bad and I have been there. I'm glad I found this one from Old Navy because they are true to their size!

Chambray for me will always be my favorite shirt to throw on with leggings and sandals and call it good. You can pair it with pretty much anything (except for denim the same color).

Here is a simple look I put together since Phoenix is starting to get somewhat cooler here I went with some leggings with crosses on them. And some booties I am going to love this fall! I then paired it with some statement jewelry.

Enjoy!

Feeling The Blue

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

I'm not going to lie I was so excited for the new update for the iPhone IOS7 to come out. I have now set it up and am actually not that in love with it. Iam having fun figuring everything out. For starters I am not a huge fan of the calander. It used to have a list, for each day you clicked on, of the days events. Now it goes by time. I don't care for that. And the messaging system reminds me of when I had the android. Minor things but I love all the colors and apps and the clearer camera!

Anyways I have recently been loving bright blue colors. And have been falling in love with this shirt I've had. I never could pair it with a lot of things because it's blue and I never like putting blues with blacks. But I do like it together with this skater skirt!

Hope everyone's week is awesome!!

Malori

First College Visits

Sunday, September 8, 2013

Last week was the busiest I have had in a long time. I left Sunday night on a 15 hour trip to Whitchita, Kansas to visit Friends University and Cowley County Community College. These were actually my first college visit/tours. It was super neat! We stopped in Winslow where we snapped this pic!!

We got to Whitchita on Monday and sayed with my aunt and uncle who live there! We went to this super cute little brick oven pizza resturant.

Our visit to Friends was Tuesday morning at 9. It was such a beautiful campus. I think the tour guide said Friends was built in 1890s? My dad went there so it was pretty fun for him to just look around and see the buildings. He said a lot of them had changed since he went there. Sure enough when we went into the dorm and art center it was totally new and improved.

I really enjoyed the visit an getting to meet the performing arts directors. They seemed very interested in what I had to say. Which happened to be my favorite part that everyone was really friendly and thrilled to meet you!

Wednesday we had our visit at Cowley an I got to stay with my cousins and my dads brother who works there. I have seen the gym plenty of times since he is the basketball coach but never the campus.

Again it was such a pretty campus and the people were really friendly. The admissions was really helpful and answered all my questions. As did the student admissions tour guide. The music department is phenomenal. They know what they are talking about.

I'm sure you are wondering what are you majoring in Malori? Well I am glad you asked. I will most likely try to major in Fashion and Apparel Designs. Which unfortunately neither college has as a degree. I know I'll find something though!

Pink & White Cutouts

Sunday, August 11, 2013

Hello there!

Sorry I haven't been posting everyday. Since I have started school again I do have other activities after school and homework so I'am trying my best to post every other day instead but no promises. Expect there to be random posts from now and then later on this year!

So back to my outfit, I finally replaced my leggings this weekend (my old ones got torn apart when I fell down the stairs at school last year). Anyways... I love them they are much more comfortable than my old ones. Paired it with some pink jewelry and flats to dress it up a bit!

First Day Of School

Thursday, August 8, 2013

Today was my last FIRST day of school. It was totally different driving to school this morning and getting to leave early. Probably the worst thing is the light is so short so there was a huge line so we were late.
Here is a picture:

So I decided I would make a post about some options for the first day. My friends from my some of my other posts Rachel, and Bailey both made one's for me and wrote small descriptions of how they put the outfit together!

xoxo,
Malori

Me:

I had my sister help me pick out my outfit. I picked out my new turquoise shirt from target. I totally couldn't find a pair of shorts to go with it and my sister finds my lace shorts! It was meant to be. I then topped it off with my leopard flats and some gold jewelry!

Shirt- Target// Shorts- Forever 21+// Shoes- Charlotte Russe//

Rachel:

Rachel says, "I started out with the tank, then matched the shorts to an under laying color in the top. I went with converse to make the look 'sporty' and accessorized with shells, wooden beads, and a pendant to top it off."

Shirt- Kohls// Shorts- H&M// Shoes- Converse// Jewelry- Kohls, Wet Seal

Bailey:

Bailey says, "I always look forward to the beginning of the year, especially the first day to roll out a new and super fashionable outfit. After all the first day is the day you meet all your teachers, and any new students in your classes! It is a big day for forst impressions. My back to school outfit this year consisted of a 100% cotton white button down shirt with adorable studs. I chose this particular top because it is super cool (considering it is hot here) yet casual AND a bit fancy. I paired it with a mint blue, high-waisted skaterskirt (also 100% cotton). "

"I decided to go with fairly simple jewelry, so I just dawned a cute pink watch, and a blue beaded bracelet. You can also see the studs on my collar better here."

"Lastly I wore a pair of nude sandals with gold embellishments! I thought it polished of the look very well!"
